2022 PORSCHE TAYCAN GTS: ELECTRIC AND ELECTRIFYING

A festival of options

As is very often the case with a Porsche vehicle, the list of options is quite impressive. Anyone familiar with the brand knows that a long process awaits them before they can set off again at the wheel of their new racing car.

If you’re new to the brand, then plan some time to do it or have fun on the official Canadian site before making an appointment with a sales consultant. Believe me, a study of the available options is in order. The stunning Carmine Red coloring alone commands an extra $3,590, while the Slate Gray interior package adds $6,080.

The GTS

This livery is a game-changer for the rear steering, which is more aggressive than on the car’s other liveries. The PDCCS (for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport) system is also part of the equation, as are the 21-inch-diameter RS Spyder wheels ($3,330), two-row heated upholstery ($600), and the over-the-dash clock ($790).

Want to spend more? Take the four-zone climate control ($1,130), the 150 kW on-board charger ($520), the four-zone climate control ($1,130), the mobile charging station ($1,270), the Technology package ( $4,960), intelligent range management ($340). And how about the Premium package ($5,890), for that matter?

My test car had all of these options, with the result that the Taycan GTS you see here has a sale price of $185,580, rather than the $150,100 required to access the GTS without any options.

More than $30,000 in options is huge, but at Porsche, it’s commonplace. Moreover, for the resale value, a copy rich in equipment will sell for more than a Taycan without options in a few seasons.
